Roger worked for The Burton Group and Debenhams PLC as a Senior Sportswear Buyer, leaving to launch the HOSANA sportswear brand. Specializing in basketball clothing and accessories, the company had long term licensing partnerships with Major League Baseball and over sixty US Colleges, selling through high street multiple retailers such as Allsports, JD Sports and Footlocker Europe.
The fluent German speaker, later became the senior member of the TJX Europe Active Sportswear buying team, which was based out of Watford, Dusseldorf and New York city. He developed and successfully implemented a variety of innovative strategies for this Off-Price sports retail power.
Roger continues to work with some of the biggest and best sports brands, distributors and leagues in Europe and North America. These partnerships have been enhanced by the Brand Protection and Intellectual Property-specifically trade mark development-Sponsorship and Image Rights services that Sixtysix8 now offer.
Edmund specialises in trade mark work, dealing with a wide range of issues including prosecution of applications, opposition, revocation and invalidity actions in the UK and EUIPO, and internationally outside the EU. He is highly experienced in negotiating and concluding settlement agreements and in conducting hearings and appeals before the UKIPO.
He has also taken cases to the European Court of First Instance and has successfully reclaimed domain names for clients using Domain Name Dispute Resolution Proceedings. He has experience in a wide range of industry sectors including consumer products (in particular FMCGs and sporting goods), food & beverage, nanotech, Medtech, pharmaceuticals, computer software, transport and semiconductors.
Edmund has extensive experience of managing international portfolios of trade marks for multinational companies, as well as smaller companies or individuals. He has advised Roger Hosannah on all trademarks issue relating to Sixtysix8 and the HOSANA Sportswear business for over a decade. He also recently concluded successful domestic and international applications for the Private Ballerr brand.
Edmund is a “commercially minded” lawyer and his experience in clearance searches, filing applications and prosecuting oppositions is second to none.
Boateng has contributed to numerous awards including Promax/BDA Europe Award for Virtual Set Design, BAFTA: Best News Coverage 2014, The Murder of Lee Rigby, RTS Best News programme 2005-2009. His work has been featured in the Design Week, Creative Review, The Guardian, The Times and The Telegraph. His work for ITV News is featured in the book ‘Color Works’ authored by Eddie Opara and published by Rockport.
